The new year 2024 is going forward and we have received a generous donation in form of hardware. This ThinkPad X230 with many further additions was given to us from person wanting to stay anonymous. We hereby announce a new revision of Hyperbola live image for Hyperbola GNU/Linux-libre.
Much has changed now for the new release v0.4.4 as we have fixed and updated many packages within our repositories [core] and [extra] and optimized Hyperbola GNU/Linux-libre, including an upgrade of the kernel for GNU/Linux-libre. Also we have reworked packages with questionable licensing and did our best to provide a fully free, libre system. We have removed support for libva, libvdpau and vulkan, more information about that here. This makes Hyperbola GNU/Linux-libre acting on purpose for freedom, stability and security. So ...
We are currently cleaning our server from all old and outdated packages as our next version Milky Way v0.4.4 is going to be released soon as result of hard work in the last three months since Milky Way v0.4.3. Expected release date for v0.4.4 is December 29th 2023.
UPDATE: Out of the reasoning that we have restructured many packages we have to postpone the scheduled release a week forward to January 5th 2024. The synchronization is taking long and we want a good working release for all users. Thank you for understanding!
